Rev. Brenda P. Wallace serves as the Assistant Pastor of the historic
Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA under the pastorate of Rev. Dr.
Joseph L. Roberts, Jr. Her call to the historic Ebenezer Baptist
Church is one of the most significant honors she has received because
this is the church and pulpit where the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther
King, Jr. served as pastor before his assassination. She provides
pastoral care, and provides the pastoral leadership to the following
ministries Christian Education, Children’s Chapel, Women’s Missionary
Union, Church School, Stephen’s Ministry, Teenage Mother’s Ministry,
Grief Ministry and she preaches powerful messages occasionally.
Rev. Wallace is currently enrolled in a certificate program to train
Chaplains through the Care and Counseling Center of Georgia. The Care
and Counseling Center of Georgia, was formed after a merger with the
Georgia Association for Pastoral Care and the Verdery Center of Georgia
Baptist Hospital. She is a Certified Chaplain through the Association
of Clinical Pastoral Education and a Clinical Pastoral Educator -
Supervisory Candidate.
Rev. Wallace is a native of Daytona Beach, Florida. She received her
Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with a minor in Chemistry
from her hometown school, Bethune Cookman College. She received her
Masters of Divinity degree from Morehouse School of Religion at the
Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia where she was
an honor graduate.
Rev. Wallace has spent almost thirty years in one form of ministry or
another from Christian Education, Sunday School, Bible Study, Vacation
Bible School, Outreach, Advocacy Ministry, Youth Retreats, Retreat
Planning to Workshop Speaker, Leader and Preacher.
While attending Morehouse School of Religion, Rev. Wallace
served as the female seminarian to the Morehouse School of Religion’s
Trustee Board and a member of the Morehouse School of Religion Baptist
Fellowship Executive Board. Rev. Wallace is a member of the Alpha Kappa
Alpha Sorority, Inc., the United Negro College Fund - Inter- Alumni
Council, and the American Society for Trainers and Developers. Some of
her most notable honors and awards are:

the Certificate of Appreciation from former Governor Bob Graham,
while serving and chairing the Florida State Board of Professional Land
Surveyors as the first Black female;

the Outstanding Service Award from the Bethune Cookman College
National Alumni;

the New Birth Baptist Church Outstanding Service Award;

the Ford Fellowship Award for Community Service;
-
1997 –1998 Who’s Who Among American Universities and Colleges;
and,
-
Theta Phi, the national honor society for theological education.
Rev. Wallace has served as Vice-chair on the Executive Board of
Directors for the non-profit organization, Friends of Prison Families.
‘Friends of Prison Families’ (FPFs) was an interfaith coalition of
prison families and volunteers from the Atlanta Metro Area collaborating
and working together to assist over 120 families. FPFs was the only
organization in Georgia that provided comprehensive services to the
entire family affected by incarceration. ‘Friends of Prison Families’
was founded in the Spring of 1994 and has established Visitations,
Education & Family Support, and Aftercare Programs. Rev.
Wallace’s weekends are often full because of her many workshops and
preaching engagements.
Rev. Wallace is married to James O. Wallace now in their
32nd year. They have two beautiful daughters, Kristina Wallace Edwards
and Kimberly Michelle, a son-in-law, Demond Edwards and two grandsons,
Brandon Wallace Edwards and Jalyn Raphael Edwards.
