The Reverend Doctor Toussaint King Hill, Jr. was born in Detroit,
Michigan. He was to only child born to Nella Mae Hill and Rev.
Toussaint King Hill, Sr., who are both now resting in glory. Dr. Hill
was very fortunate to be blessed with a very loving, nurturing and God
fearing family, that spans five generations which include his handsome
and intelligent sons, Toussaint King Hill, III and Thaddaeus Kornell
Hill.
Dr. Hill matriculated and graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta,
Georgia where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree; from Garrett
Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois where he acquired
his Master of Divinity Degree. At Garrett, Dr. Hill was the first
William Holmes Borders Scholar. He received his Doctor of Ministry
degree from the United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. At United,
Dr. Hill was the Cornell West, Jeremiah Wright, Molefi Asante Scholar.
In March of 1989, Baptist Temple Church of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
unanimously elected and extended the call to Dr. Hill to be their
pastor. Dr. Hill served that congregation for fourteen years. Under
his leadership, the spiritual, numerical, financial and physical growth
was significantly fostered. A renovation of the church edifice,
physical façade and sanctuary inside and out was completed. During his
stay in Pittsburgh, Dr. Hill was very active in the community. He was
the first African American chaplain to serve the Pennsylvania Air
National Guard; the only African American male to be selected on the
Pittsburgh Police Citizens Review Board.
Dr. Hill’s numerous awards and recognitions include:

Induction into the Morehouse College of Preachers, Martin
Luther King, Jr. International Chapel.

Honored with the Outstanding Young Men of America Award.
Ø
He has been profiled in Essence Magazine as an “Outstanding
Morehouse Man.”

Awarded by the United States Congress with the Lyndon Baines
Johnson Internship.
Ø
Appointment by former Vice President Al Gore to a commission
to aid in the transformation of education in underprivileged inner-city
neighborhoods. In June 2003, Dr. Hill assumed his new duties as the
Assistant Pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Ebenezer Baptist Church
is the spiritual home of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and is an
internationally acclaimed congregation. Ebenezer is a Church For All
Nations!
