The Gilstrap Academy Dance Ministry is for young children who are ages 8 to 18 and members of Ebenezer. This ministry,was established with a mission to provide the children and youth with an opportunity to exemplify Christ through creative expressions of praise and worship and to honor and glorify God through movement. 

The members of this ministry have been provided with the opportunity to grow, experience, and learn about the gift of ministry through dance and the unique purpose they have within the church.  Each member is encouraged to learn about their unique gift and how God has created in them a special “giving” that allows them to minister to others.  While participating in this ministry, the dancers have had the opportunity to learn discipline, accountability, focus, commitment, and responsibility for their ministry and ongoing participation.  The dancers are also responsible for their personal development model for improving self-confidence, teamwork, and leadership.   These characteristics and foundations for building young people will help prepare them for their future ministry experiences and prepare them to give a greater self-contribution to the church.

The commission of the Women's Missionary Union is to promote missions on the local, state, and national level, in support of the programs of Ebenezer Baptist Church, rendering to the needs of the sick and shut-in members of the Chruch, the needs of the community, and the needs of those who are less fortunate; through visitations, greeting cards, and phone calls, personal witnessing, service and teaching, and other appropriate action as deemed necessary.

To support the programs of the Ebenezer Baptist Church Women’s Missionary Union, rendering to the needs of the sick and shut-in members of the Church and the extended community, primarily through visitations, greeting cards, and phone calls; and other appropriate action in response to specific needs

Ministers to the needs of women and children at local homeless shelters.  As well as provide spiritual and physical support to sick and shut-in members, as deemed appropriate.

Deacons at Ebenezer are committed to the New Testament purpose for the office of deacon:  they serve the body of Christ through ministry in the local church.  We view ourselves as lay ministers assisting the senior pastor and staff as they attend to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the church families.

In addition to regular prayer and individual bible study, all deacons should make other investments in their own spiritual growth.  Growth opportunities are also needed for the board as a whole.  Some examples are:

The Evangelism Ministry is a group of dedicated members who regularly canvass the community to spread the Good Nes of the power of Jesus Christ to save us from the effects of sin.  We also preclaim that faith in Jesus Christ is the key to assessing peace, joy, freedom, and hope.

By ministering to the communities in the shadow of Ebenezer, we make the church relevant and add to its growth and health

To meet the goals of our church by (1) providing Christ like compassion and guidance through service to our members, community, and to God’s people around the world and (2) being an advocate for the release of all who are politically and unjustly oppressed.

We believe that our obedience to God’s word and his great commandment to “Take Care of His Creation” will make us fisherman of men, women and children.

• Saturday Crisis Closet provides a two-week supply of groceries to qualifying women, children and disabled men. Saturday 10:00am-12:00 Noon
• Saturday Marta Cards/Tokens are distributed to qualified individuals seeking employment. Saturday 10:00am-12:00 Noon.
• Sunday Morning Feedings provides sack meals to homeless men, women and children. Sunday 8:00am-8: 45am.
• Annual Love Feast is held during the Month of February and provides a hot balanced meal, clothing and healthcare services to Atlanta’s Homeless men, women and children.   
• Voter Registration is ongoing in keeping Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dream alive in exercising our Right to Vote. Stamped/self-addressed return Georgia Voter Registration Applications are available M-F 9:00am-9:00pm, Sat. 9:00am-2:00pm, Sun. 7:45am-2:00pm.
• Political Forums are held as needed to assist voters in making informed decisions at the Polls.

Promote world peace by bringing together international students in the U.S. and American families.

There are over 5,000 international college students in the Atlanta Metro area. AMIS is a city-wide outreach program that strives to bring together these students and American families for cultural exchange and friendship. Many students spend 4 years in America and never have the opportunity to visit an American home or get to know American families. It’s a learning experience on both sides.

Ebenezer is “A Church For All Nations”. This ministry supports that philosophy. Ebenezer is one of seven core churches that sponsors this ministry.

To expand and promote the philosophy of Fellowship, Food, and Fun for married couples through Christian education and social activities. To grow the organization to expand the base of married couples at Ebenezer participating in activities and discussions to learn and continue to grow together.

Christian Stewardship – the responsible management of all God has entrusted to us for God’s purposes, not our own.  This includes the God’s Word, our spiritual gifts, relationships, time, resources and life itself.

The Stewardship Ministry seeks to ensure that we have a well informed and educated congregation, so that we can become even better stewards of that which God has entrusted us with.

The Men's Chorus of Ebenezer Baptist Church is a highly acclaimed choral group that was formed in the early 1980's.  In 1985, this singing aggregate was officially renamed the J.L. Roberts, Jr. Men's Chorus.  Under the spiritual and talented leadership of Director Maurice Seay, the Chorus has developed a diverse repertoire of spirituals, anthems, and traditional and contemporary gospel.  The Chorus is characterized by its artistic beauty, its religious dignity and its stirring spirituality, and the strong spirit of brotherhood and unity within the Chorus provides the foundation of a strong commitment to singing to the Glory of God.

In addition to its scheduled 3rd Sunday participation in Ebenezer's worship services, the J.L. Roberts, Jr. Men's Chorus has responded to invitations to provide music at various churches and service organizations in the Atlanta metropolitan area, including singing the National Anthem for the Atlanta Braves and performing at events for Emory University, Morehouse College and the Jimmy Carter Presidential Center.  The Chorus has also performed concerts in Michigan, North Carolina, West Virginia, Kentucky, Alabama and Chicago, IL.
